Our Service

Youth Ministry

Walking with young people as they work out what to believe and how to live.

Young people make up the larger part of the Church in Africa. Youth ministry is therefore not a specialised department but something close to the centre of our work.

The shape of the work

Retreats and camps, music and drama groups, study help, sports, preparation for confirmation, accompaniment of young adults facing decisions about work and marriage — the form varies from place to place. What stays constant is that we take young people seriously as believers rather than treating them as an audience.

A good deal of our own vocations come from this work, but that is a consequence rather than its purpose.

Vocations

Is God calling you to a life of service and mission?

Every Marist vocation begins with a quiet question. If that question is alive in you, we would be glad to walk with you as you listen for the answer.
