Our Service

Social and Community Development

Practical solidarity: health, water, livelihoods and the dignity of the poor.

The Gospel cannot be preached to people whose immediate needs are ignored. Alongside pastoral work, Marist communities are involved in health posts, water projects, support for widows and orphans, literacy classes and small livelihood schemes.

A note on how we do it

We try to work through existing local structures rather than creating parallel ones, and to measure a project by whether the community can sustain it after we leave.

Vocations

Is God calling you to a life of service and mission?

Every Marist vocation begins with a quiet question. If that question is alive in you, we would be glad to walk with you as you listen for the answer.
