Marist Mission

Marist Formation House, Douala

  • Douala, Cameroon
  • Since 2006
  • Formation house

The formation house accompanies young men in the first stages of Marist life. Candidates come from several countries, which makes the community genuinely international in a small space.

The rhythm is deliberately unhurried: prayer, study, shared domestic work, and a weekly apostolic placement that keeps formation connected to the real Church rather than to an idea of it.

Activities of this mission

  • Postulancy programme for candidates from across the region
  • Philosophy and theology studies at the regional institute

  • Weekly apostolic placements in nearby parishes and schools
  • Annual retreat and vocation discernment weekends
