On the Solemnity of the Assumption, three novices made their first profession in the Society of Mary at our formation house in Douala, in the presence of their families and of confrères from across the region.
The regional superior received the vows. In his homily he returned to Father Colin’s counsel that Marists should be “unknown and hidden in this world”, and reminded the newly professed that hiddenness is not smallness: it is a way of making room for Christ in work that could easily be made to serve the worker.
The three will begin philosophy studies this month. We ask your prayers for them, and for the six candidates entering postulancy in October.
